Founded and led by Mel Jarron, Scene Scotland brings together over 25 years of experience working across live events, festivals, markets and creative projects - from intimate, design-led gatherings to large-scale public events welcoming thousands of attendees.

Our work is rooted in strong curation, thoughtful programming and a belief that well-made events can bring people together in meaningful ways.

What We Do

Scene Scotland develops and delivers original event projects, including festivals and curated markets, while also working collaboratively within established festival teams in senior operational roles.

This dual perspective - creating projects from the ground up while supporting delivery at scale - informs everything we do, from audience experience and access planning to calm, organised on-the-ground delivery.

Experience & Leadership

Mel Jarron has worked across Scotland’s cultural and events sector for many years, producing a diverse range of projects spanning festivals, markets and live experiences.

Alongside founding and directing Scene Scotland projects such as WILDHOOD Festival and a programme of Curated Markets & Fairs, Mel also works within major festival teams. Recent roles include Assistant Box Office Manager at Solfest (2024) and Accreditation Manager at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival (2025) returning again in 2026.

This experience brings a deep understanding of how festivals operate behind the scenes - from systems and logistics to artist, trader and audience care - and supports a collaborative, practical approach to working with partners and teams.
